BRUSHES
PAPER
You get what you pay for! You’ll be happier with the Arches brand, but I understand if you want to purchase cheaper paper if you’re just practicing, so I’ve provided three price levels below.
Good: Strathmore 140 lb
Better: Arches Cold Press 140 lb
PAINT
You can purchase a pan or tubes. I usually recommend starting out with a pan to figure out what colors you like best, then buying tubes of your favorite. I’ve pans at different price points, as well as my favorite colors that I often reference in class.
Good: Half Pan, Set of 8
Better: Half Pan, Set of 12
Best: Full Pan, Set of 24
Tube Color Suggestions: Indigo, Payne’s Gray, Permanent Rose, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo blue, Phthalo Green, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Orange, Sepia, Burnt Umber
Take advantage of Kaitlin's hand-picked watercolor bundle! Packed with all Kaitlin’s hand-picked favorites, it includes everything you need for your upcoming watercolor class! Available as an add-on for eligible classes.
